Fritjof Capra, world renown scholar-activist, systems thinker, author, educator, reflects on an inspiring article by his old friend and colleague, political activist and author David Korten. In this article, titled ‘Ecological Civilization: From Emergency to Emergence,’ the author presents a deep and eloquent critique of our current system of ‘ego-nomics’ and proposes a list of action steps for creating an alternative ecological civilization.

Fritjof Capra, Ph.D., physicist and systems theorist, is a Fellow of Schumacher College (UK) and serves on the Council of Earth Charter International. Fritjof is the author of several international bestsellers, including The Tao of Physics and The Web of Life. He is coauthor, with Pier Luigi Luisi, of the multidisciplinary textbook, The Systems View of Life. Capra’s online course is based on his textbook.
